As computers and the Internet become more and more a part of every day life, learning how to type becomes an important skill to have. For someone not familiar with a keyboard, the first steps in learning to type may seem like and impossible and intimidating feat. However, there are many free games online that can help someone who is beginning to learn to type learn in fun new ways.
Fun School - Super Hyper Spider Typer
This is a free, colorful browser-based game that is geared towards teaching children to type. The player will help Berry the hairy spider escape from hungry lizards and other strange creatures by typing the words that appear on their backs. The game includes multiple rounds that end when Berry safely reaches the top of the tree.
Free Typing Game.net
This site offers nine different Flash games that help players learn and hone their typing skills. The games allow the player to set the difficulty level and offer fun learning for typing students of all ages. Many of these games are humorous spoofs of more popular games. Titles include games such as Trick or Type, Martian Defender, Spacebar Invaders, and Keyboard Revolution. The website also includes free online lessons, tests and a scoreboard of all players.
